You're right about wanting to move out and get some privacy and independence etc., and then realising living on your own is *hard* work. :P I think if they treat you like an adult as far as your opinions are concerned, parents are ok to live with. I was lucky enough to move back in with my folks after the military (not that that was the best move I could have made), and I never again made a peep about their rules.
