More details are emerging about the less than satisfactory responses from all levels of government to the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

Pictures of neat rows of submerged buses - not used; turning down offer from Amtrak to evacuate residents on its trains - State - Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco
Political and bureaucratic hindrance to help from the Federal government and other surrounding states - Federal - FEMA and the Department Of Homeland Security
Woeful response and coordination once the levees broke and most of New Orleans was flooded.
