New Orleans: levels of responsibility
Stumbled onto this clear-cut analysis of who’s responsible for what when sh*t hits the fan in New Orleans. The article (actually a comment from a reader to the blog owner) might be pro-Bush in tone but you cannot argue with the facts. And the more ppl learn about this, the better.
The chain of responsiblity for the protection of the citizens in New Orleans is:
- The Mayor
- The New Orleans director of Homeland Security (a political appointee of the Governor who reports to the Governor)
- The Governor
- The Head of Homeland Security
- The President
What did each do?
More in the article here.
And speaking of all this, shouldn’t FEMA employees be working or rescuing or whatever instead of browsing blogs?

Think maybe they are reading blogs to see how pissed off ppl are? “I’m just doing some research!”
