Danny Ting and Anh Tran
Danny Ting and Anh Tran are two former Andersen Consulting employees who quit their high-paying jobs (USD$120,000 and USD$70,000 respectively) to start up a business similar to Netflix – pay a monthly subscription fee and rent as many as DVDs as you want. Except their’s rent out adult titles only.
In between running the business literally by themselves with a small staff, and attending industry trade shows and conventions, they flirt with porn stars during “business meetings” and even find time to date one or two of them.
However all isn’t bed and roses – their business has still to turn a profit despite having been established for 4 years and it now being a company with an annual turnover of $7 million. And as the article noted wryly, being pornographers isn’t something that Asian parents are exactly proud to be telling ppl about.
But then, damn … I’d still trade places with them.

haha, it’s probably no surprise why they’ve yet to churn up a profit. as a *ahem* veteran adult materials consumer (yeah yeah i know, it’s just a nicer sounding euphemism), i’ve never had to subscribe to anything thanks of the somewhat ‘open-source’ camaraderie shared by the various fellow P2P users. hehe.
if u ask me, the japs have the absolute expertise in this industry. not only do they websites produce original porn, they film it in an amateur method. making it more ‘user frenly’ hehe.

the v.u.: as a porn consumer myself, I wanna say I’d much prefer the wham-bam ones – come on, it’s a porn movie, everyone knows it’s a porn movie, so why pretend right? The plot and story are all superflous.
