Had dinner with some friends at this funky little Japanese place called “Banzai” in Leederville.

Two of us had ramen, and the other two had this shabu-shabu thing for one – forgot what it’s called.

Food was so-so lah. I still prefer Matsuri in the city. But again good conversation saved the day. What did we talk about? Oh yes – buying property, investments, money (beginning of the night), holiday plans (during dinner), and then as the effects of alcohol grew … sex and porn. Ah yes, we are very mature indeed.

Haha food “so-so” ar Marcus?..hehe…the version I heard earlier was: “Ah yah, very salty leh”…
So, what was the noodles like in the ramen? Do they have tonkotsu ramen? Matsui got no ramen leh Marcus!
oh..BTW, lovely photos, two couples (see where those arms were placed, in both photos)..haha…:P
At least you didn’t go to the Indian place on Newcastle Street – the food’s not bad, save for the fact that it made Bruce rush for the loo. Eep.
Mmm.. Matsuri’s yum. Been eons since I last went – tried the sashimi there?
Isn’t it Shabu-Shabu? Or are you thinking of Sukiyaki?
jjj: oi not couple, not GAY!
The ramen was not what I expected to be honest. I looked at the menu and I had wanted to try the other stuff but since we went all the way there because of the ramen, I thought I should give it a go. Bleah. Not like the ones in Japan. Heck, not even like the ones I make.
I know Matsuri no ramen but at least I would enjoy the food.
starry: yeah yeah have tried almost everything at Matsuri and the price is reasonable.
Indian place on Newcastle, that’d be next door to where I was wouldn’t it?
Heh I saw it on the way past.
lynne: I have no idea. That’s why I said “forgot what it’s called”.
Deterioration of conversation always comes as a side effect of alcohol..but somehow the deterioration is what makes it so much better!
sourrain: SO TRUE! Talking shit is so much better when everyone don’t give a crap anymore. Hahahah.
