HAHAHHAHAAHAHAH! That was a good laugh. Even better than what her lawyer said.
Mr. Mulcahy didn’t end there either. From Leslie denies Muslim ‘stunt’ – National – smh.com.au:
“… the release from the start of the day right though to the end of the night and getting onto the plane was nothing short of idiotic,” he said.
Yeah that’s right, slam the country after you’ve left it. It is standard procedure for convicted criminals like your client to be deported. Mate, Australia does the same thing too.
I am not Indonesian and I got offended. You are an ugly Australian and I’d say what most Indonesians would think from your words: Indonesia don’t want wankers like youse anyway! Stay the f**k out!
And then there’s also reports that she might sell her story to the tabloids. What a big fat joke this has been.

You know, I got riled up watching the news report as well. And I’m not even a staunch Muslim.

starry: exactly. In all honesty, she could have worn the tudung and not called herself a Muslim. She could have just said that she is respecting the local custom (even tho it’s predominantly Hindu in Bali). But once she should realise the implications of calling herself a “Muslim”. Perhaps she may be a dumb model afterall.

I apologise if I offend anyone with this comment but that comment of her having her own brand of Islam makes it sound like,
Preppy teenage girl: “Ooh I just love the ‘Islam’ by Michelle Leslie line of clothing! Where can I buy it?!”
As for her selling her story to the tabloids, she’s not allowed to. Convicted criminals aren’t allowed to profit from their crime, and whether the girl likes it or not, she’s a convicted criminal AND got deported.
christina: exactly. in these highly sensitised times, the words “Islam” and “Muslim” shouldn’t be thrown around willy-nilly.
As for her selling her story, unfortunately I think she may be allowed to since technically she didn’t get convicted in Australia.
Latest from the Channel 10 News desk – apparently Michelle Leslie tried to explain herself by saying something along the lines of: Islam will not allow me to pursue my modelling career.
Yea, it’ll just help you pursue a trip out of jail.
