I love it when fast food companies try to look healthy. And to think that this would never have happened if Morgan Spurlock hadn’t done Super Size Me. Morgan, you da man!
On a side note, one of Hungry Jack’s (BK to non-Aussies) slogans is that “the burgers are better at Hungry Jack’s”. Why? Because they are FLAME-grilled. FLAME-grilled anything is delicious-anything. Mmmm. FLAME-grilled. I love me some FLAME-grilled goodness right about now.
FLAME. I’m loving it. Oh wait, that’s McD.

Compare to oil frying, grill is a healthy choice.
Want some McStraw, mooi?
yes yes grill is more healthy. At least that’s how I psycho myself. But not after you’ve added the cheese, the sauce, the mayo, the bacon …. hahahaah!
What’s a McStraw for????
Aiyo… pagi-pagi dah tunjuk makanan… Making me hungry lah! I thought of going to Tiong Bahru to have super popiah for lunch, but now you’re making me crave for a Whopper!
kynne: popiah is healthier. be good and eat that! Hahhaahhah.
The most hilarious is McDonald’s. I’ve been sitting back and watching them try so hard make themselves look better. Changing their menus, changing their restaurants. They’re trying to look like they’re not McDonald’s anymore and don’t sell bad shit, but not even continual renovations of a restaurant can hide the fact that they’re McDonald’s and they sell evil shit.
Flame grilled *Drool*
christina: true that. I remember reading something along the lines of this in Morgan’s book (Don’t Eat This Book!):
The human body craves fat, it’s biological. So you may have good intentions to go into a McD to have a salad but as soon as you step into one, the smell of the grease hits you and you’re sucked in.
So going back to what you’ve said, yes they can change whatever they want but really ppl don’t go to McD (or any other fast food joints) to eat healthy.
Ahh, but you see the healthy menu helps drag the reluctant parents in. You know, the ones with kids who can’t get enough burgers.
starry: ah yes yes. you understand the insidiousness of it all!
Hmm. I always though flame-grilled is more unhealthy as those flames are from LPG. I mean, how healthy can beef patties cooked by burning flames possibly be? ;p
michael: nothing is truly healthy but at least flame-grilled in better than being pan-fried in gobs of oil.
love their greasy onion rings too!! They are my favourite!!
