A Scanner Darkly” is a movie that I’m very keen to watch. It’s based on a Philip K. Dick short story, like so many other sci-fi movies such as “Blade Runner”, “Total Recall” and “Minority Report”. All movies that I love. The man’s a genius and a visionary.

The premise for “A Scanner Darkly” is that Big Brother is pervasive and “everything that you do is recorded”. In the movie, Keanu Reeve’s character is an undercover cop ordered to spy on his friends who are suspected to be drug users.

From the official press release:

When he is directed to step up the surveilance on himself, he is launched on a paranoid journey into the absurb, where identities and loyalties are impossible to decode.

The movie is also unique in that:

Like a graphic novel come to life, “A Scanner Darkly” will use live action photography overlaid with an advanced animation process (interpolated rotoscoping) to create a haunting, highly stylized vision of the future.

Can’t wait.
