Night out in Freo, day out at The Cott
Even though I got the Xbox 360 on the weekend, I still managed to get out and about on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Yes, my life is quite balanced like that.
Last night, after going to Northbridge on Saturday nights consistently for the past 4 or 5 years, Simon and I decided to try out Fremantle. First stop was Harbourside. Impressions were not good. The place had a funny smell throughout and the DJs can’t mix. Cover was only $5 but it wasn’t worth it. And that is why I don’t have photos of the place.
The only place left was the safe choice: Metro Freo. It used to be the sister club of Metro City but they are under different management now.
We were not dissapointed. They play house music, and the layout is similar to Metro City with 2 chambers and multiple bars across 2 levels. In the end, I still preferred Northbridge - the crowd is more diverse and there are more nightspots. So if we didn’t like a place, we could easily hop from place to place. Not so in Fremantle. However, Metro Freo was a good find.
After Metro Freo, we had the usual kebab supper at Nicks Place.
Sunday afternoon, we headed to The Cott around 4:30pm. On a very warm day, the sea breeze in Cottesloe was a very welcome relief. We were looking forward to the cold beer. And the hot chickies in summer dresses. Woohoo!
The beer garden was very packed by the time we got in.
Two and a half hours later, we left to head home. And the queue by now was longer and moving slower. Go earlier to avoid dissapointment.
A good weekend was had.
