Snickers commercial pulled from US TV
This is the Snickers commercial aired recently on US TV during the SuperBowl, which was hastily pulled down after complaints from The Human Rights Campaign and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.
I think it’s more funny than it is gay-bashing. In fact, if you watch it again you’d realise it’s poking fun at the characters rather than gayness. I like it.

1. There is nothing Gay about it.
2. Hmmm, anyone want to try it with a girl?
hahahaha.
Yeah I don’t think it was insulting to gays at all. It’s more a statement on the typical reactions of straight men if that ever happen to them.
And no, two girls kissing would not have the same impact at all. Some girls are quite ok with girl-on-girl kissing.
I wonder how a gay would react if he would to kiss a girl. ha! I bet they would have that same kind of reaction as the 2 dude in the ad.
Then, can we complain the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation of heterosexual-bashing? ha!
haaa.faint.
it’s not gay-ish at all.
jus funny.
u mean snickers is so nice meh..waaaaahaahaaa
impetuousman: Heh I don’t think it works like that.
mf: yes snickers are GOOD!!! Very satisfying.
mf : I prefer snickers to Mars anytime
I think it was funny as hell. Impetuousman has a great point. Also, I doubt the commercial would have been removed if it would have been about a gay guy kissing a straight girl.
Sometimes the overly liberal in America drive me up the flippin wall. They always take everything to be about harassment when it’s not. They even brought up the fact of the optional endings being about “gay bashing” when they were never used as a commercial in the first place. I’ve always considered myself to be right in the middle of the ballpark. Not so liberal that I don’t accept responsibility for my actions, and not so conservative that I have a giant stick stuck up my ass. Some of the fanatics here in America drive me nuts. It’s the reason nobody works together anymore. Everybody seems to be pointing at each other instead of pointing at real problems and solving them by working together. Makes me want to just slap some people. lol.
shelly: I’m in the middle as well, and we have fanatics from the left and right here too. Here’s a bit of irony for you: our conservative party is called “The Liberals”.
Sometimes when it comes to voting, it’s more a choice for the lesser evil rather than who we really want.
Haha… you know, the thing about us is… we don’t even have to crack our brains when it comes to voting. The choice is clear, though I shall not name names, I guess you already know.
impetuousman: only because there isn’t a viable alternative in most voting wards.
