The wedding reception was held at one of Burswood’s Grand Ballrooms. This is the happy couple, and the maid of honour, Han-Wei who is Hun-Ye’s sister.

I really like how this next picture turned out - the light caught Hun-Ye’s face perfectly.

On my table sat the cousins in attendance, including the newly weds Shane and Kirsten. The other cousins were Yvonne and Paul, Linda and Damien, Reucas, his brother Reugan and my brother Marvin and I.

The reception was a mostly sedate affair, punctuated by some bad karaoke (!!!) and a fantastic dance performance by the WA state champions in ballroom dancing. Everything moved along breezily, and even the speeches were kept short.

There was the customary cake-cutting and then a toast on stage from the family to the guests - we call it “yam-seng” which means bottoms up.

At the end of the night, the younger cousins along with friends of the bride and groom went upstairs to their honeymoon suite for more drinking. Bee-Khim, Hun-Ye’s sister-in-law (her brother’s wife) was the drinks hostess with the mostess - that woman can really drink.

I think most of us were fairly gone at one stage. Hun-Ye and Rick were even more so, because they had to toast every table at the reception earlier. You don’t see Rick here because he’s had enough. :)

And this was the aftermath. Yet, she was still smiling. What a champion.

After this, some of us went downstairs to the casino to gamble a little and to sober up. All of us had a fantastic time. Congratulations again Rick and Hun-Ye!
