I went to the citizenship interview late January, and now I’ll be sworn in as an Australian citizen next Thursday. It would have been the three of us, my mother, my brother and me attending the ceremony. But my brother is away in Singapore and Malaysia, and apparently my mom’s application is being processed differently due to her age. So it’ll just be me on the day. Kinda anti-climatic just like the interview was, but I’m happy nonetheless.
So … G’day mate! And where the bloody hell are you?!

An: well we could defer it but we have an overseas trip in June. Once we officially become citizens we’d then have to apply for Australian passports, because our PR visas are no longer valid and we can only travel with an Australian passport. So I want to get it done as quickly as possible. I hope my mom and brother won’t leave it too late either.
