Don’t call it a podcast #1 - Accents

Woohoo!
On a whim yesterday, I had the brilliant (???) idea of getting a microphone, and then proceeded to write and record the first of hopefully many in a series that I’d like to call, “Don’t call it a podcast”. Seriously, don’t call it a podcast - it’s just an mp3 file, right?
In it, I talked about how my accent sounds neither here nor there. These links from Wit and Spit add to the story:
Wit and Spit - the Podcast
Podcast: Take 2
I’m using a LogiTech Premium Stereo Headset as my microphone, and Audacity for recording and editing.
For a first attempt I think it’s not too bad. Heheh. I already know I should learn to speak slower. Please tell me what you think. Is it lame? Is it embarassing? Should I even bother?
I find that it’s surprisingly easier speaking than writing a blog post because I don’t have to worry about spelling and grammar so much. So if the response from you is favourable, it’s definitely a do-er. You can even suggest some story ideas. Note that I can’t do voices or impressions.
Fire away but please be gentle.

nice one for your first voice-blog marcus! what I’m going to say next is only my 2 cents k..
1. It’s nice and short. You do speak a little too fast sometimes, but it’s nothing serious. I think you need to said website’s address clearer next time.
2. Topic is good. Casual, light, easy to hear.
3. Little jokes and some ‘wohooo’(s) that you’ve put in definitly has liven up the podcast
Keep up your usual witty and humorous style.I’m actually looking forward to another of your podcast

It’s pretty good, sounding much like my hodgepodge accent, in a different way though! The speed was just nice for me, but everyone says I mumble/race through my words so the others may beg to differ =D
One thing I noticed: you do tend to slur! And I agree, mixed accents are sexay

I found myself enjoying quite much. Well, like that part when u spoke mandarin, actually you dont sound weird when speaking in mandarin, so i think, yes, your mandarin sounds pretty cute.

Not sure what I was expecting but your voice isn’t anything like what I imagined it to be. Lol. You sound younger than your actual age!

*Hahaha* I`m of the same mind as Bunny. I can`t match that voice to your face! I thought it was a pleasant, amusing (and not painful to download on my wonderfully plodding Telstra account) recording thingie.
