Snoop the dog says, “Don’t call me Tripod!”
Your responses throughout Snoop’s ordeal have been heart-felt and positive – from the time he had his lump removed and diagnosed, to the decision that I had to make to amputate, and to after the amputation. If he was human, he would be very grateful because I know I am.
Many of you expressed sadness which is expected. So let me share with you some pictures and a video (1:46) which will show you that, although he’s not the same as before, he hasn’t lost any of his spirit.
And to make sure that he remains healthy for a long time yet, I will be adding more freshly cooked meat to his diet for extra nutrition to protect and strengthen his joints, especially the ones around the remaining front leg.

lucky dog!
make curry…yummy.
Glad Snoop is BACK!!!
He is one LUCKY DOG indeed!
Cheer! ^___^
maybe you can consider a prosthesis limb? i dun think long term stress on the front limb & hind limbs is good for him.
hey! you never asked me! Snoop can take drugs!!! =P
Hey about the prosthetic leg thing, my neighbour`s dog didn`t have any long term problems (re: stress on limbs) living years on three legs. She started getting really crafty within a matter of weeks, using her snout and teeth for opening gates instead of pawing and scratching etc. Animals are really very adaptable and resourceful. Snoop won`t be any different! *Hearts&Hugs*
Man with a owner like yourself, Snoop definitely can’t go wrong ^^ .
sourrain: har? I don’t eat dog. Even if I do, I’m not eating a cancerous piece of meat. Gross.
Fr0g^___^: that’s what most ppl say!
kachuaz: pets prosthetics are very rare and expensive and they are not guaranteed to work on a dog. I didn’t read any literature which had recommended it. I’m definitely not going to run him as much as before, even though he still loves it.
cynthia: he was on “Tramal” (???) painkillers atm. but he’s doing ok with less of that now. Amazing how fast he’s recovering.
Yuuka: they really are! And as you can see, his personality is still there. We all can definitely learn from that.
Fredison: hahah! thanks man!
Heartbreaking episode but let’s focus on the bright side..
It’s good to see him wag his tail. =) Snoop’s a strong boy! 3 cheers for him!!!
I meant make curry for SNOOP not out of SNOOP!
omg.gross
He is all good. There’s one thing funny that I notice though — he doesn’t respond much to your calling (whistle). I think you need to practice/train more. LOL.
I feel Snoop is quite a Bochup dog, he would rather do things he feels like depending on his mood. You can see him wagging his tail wherevever he go.
Does Snoop Mingle with other dogs in the neighbourhood?
I’m surprised he gets around so well right after surgery. Wow.
Sourrain!!! Hahaha.. when I read your comment I thought why you so animal cruelty one!
I’m glad Snoop is doing well! And yes, he’s one lucky dog to have an owner like you.
Awwww, I still love Snoop. He’s one of the most gorgeous dog in my experience. Glad to see he’s up and enjoying life =)
mn: yeah he is! hip hip hurray!
sourrain: ORH! heheh. sollie, miscommunication. Anyway, curry too spicy for a dog lah – too salty, too sweet also. Am planning to give him more blanched meat.
10/3: he does – didn’t you see his tail wagging? He only comes if I call him.
Lupin: hahah oh no – he’s very anti-social with other dogs. Very good with ppl though.
shelly: yes, the recovery is fast.
dreymer: heheh you got confused too right? Haha! Yeah am happy that Snoop is recovering so fast.
jktdo: if he can understand you, he’d be glad to hear that!
a wooden peg leg would look cool. like a pirate dog.
yurl: cool but not functional. heh.
awww takes a while to get used to but hey at least he’s healthy and alright now!!
hugs to snoop!
Have you heard of a book called the “Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe” by Fannie Flagg? One of the character, a boy, got his hand amputated and when he was expectedly lamenting the loss of his limb, another character brought him to see a dog who is like Snoop. That dog was pretty much acting as if he has all his legs in tact and that gave the boy some hope that life is not over just because he lost his arm.
I’m sure pretty soon, Snoop will be inspiring others in that way too
Glad the dog is okay…i’ve always grown up with dogs and would have been distraught if something happened to them.
E: yup that is what’s most important after all.
Jewelle: thanks for that story. You’re right – we can learn a lot from animals some time.
van: except for one limb less, he’s the same in character.

Even though I cannot touch dogs, I see Snoop like that, so kesian… 2 secs into the clip, my eyes watery already. Nangis lah. The 2 pics on the upper row, his face so kesian like that. *sniffs*
But it’s good to see that he’s adapting to his situation. So pandai. Hope he’ll fully recover soon.
Kynne: actually these are not the most kesian pics but your reaction is a common one. But as I’ve said, he’s adapting well and he hasn’t lost any of his character. Thanks for the kind words!
Hi Mooi,
Just wondering how did u initially find out it was cancer? Any signs? Is there a post for this.
Do let me know I will check this post for replies.
Thanks
