USB warming thingies for the computer addict
Disregarding the fact that women wear less during summer, I’d much prefer winter over summer mostly because I don’t like sweating from doing nothing. But during winter, my hands and feet get cold no matter how much I wear. Climate-controlled temperatures work for my body but not on the extremities. Having a space heater is good and all but it’s drying on the skin and it’s kinda bulky, especially around computers. So what’s a cold computer addict to do during winter?

I’ve been reading Tokyomango and Gizmodo a lot and I have noticed there’s a lot of USB-powered warming devices available out there. Some are creative and some are very silly. I’ve picked out the top three devices that I would want for myself.
- USB Heating Gloves for those cold clammy hands that can’t type for shit when they are cold and clammy (Gizmodo)

Heh the drink warmer could be dangerous, might spill it over the keyboard! Had that happen to me once and it cost me >AU$150 to have it replaced. *ouch*

Xinyi: a cup of liquid around the keyboard is always a risky proposition but we love our beverages too much to give it up. I usually put my cup next to the monitor, and I’d reach for it by going around the keyboard instead of across it.
sourrain: yeah I do that too! and then you’d type for a while, and you’d sit on your hands again. Hahaha! Cold hands can’t type for shit.

The Coffee warmer should be practical, but as far as I know it, these product had been in the markets for at least 2 years bah.

Isn’t it a little dangerous to be wearing the glove thing? What if there is some “electricity leak” or something? I don’t even want to mention how dangerous the “eye warmer” is. Let’s hope it doesn’t end up being an “eye fryer”. HEhehe.

that hand warmer looks cool. wonder if it comes with a 10m USB cable extension so you can go to the toilet, get drinks etc without having to plug out.
10/3: the concept is the same as an electric blanket. If you have a phobia for that, then you probably wouldn’t use this. Ideally the components are well insulated from each other. Made in China anyone?

i keep noticing evey mothers day that stores like dick smith, tandy and the like release all kinds of weird “women friendly” usb gadgets … eg. the usb “personal massager” http://www.grandtec.com/USBVibe.htm
haha…well they did find in polls recently that women look at porn as much as their male counterparts – but spend less time doing so. perhaps the efficiency is due to gadgets such as these!
