On Thursday night, my cousin Shane and his wife Su-Fern took us to QE2 - the newest nightspot in town with a great view facing Penang Harbour. There’s three sections to it: the alfresco area with a lounge area under covers, the inside bar and couches, and an upstairs restaurant.
It was a pricey place but the ambience, house music and the people-watching made it worth it. And the service there was excellent too.

We sat in the alfresco area. With the sea breeze coming in, it was very refreshing and relaxing. We had alcohol, food, and many laughs. If you are in Penang, check it out but be early as the place gets packed out soon after 11pm.
During this trip, there hasn’t been one day or night when I didn’t drink. Along with the foods sampled, the sights seen and photos taken this has been a most excellent trip - one that I wasn’t even all that excited about in the first place. So it’s a bit bittersweet that I will be going back tomorrow morning.
In the next post, I shall finish off with photos of some historical buildings (yawn and I shall slap ye!

It’s funny how the best trips are the ones that you least expect them to be. But the view from the top deck looks really nice.

bm: yeah, but there’s only a handful of spots like this one. I think that they should build more - there’s a lot of untapped real estate.

Wow, that place looks awesome! Wish there were nightspots that looked like that here in Melb! Nothing wrong with a spot of drinking every day…you’re on holidays, after all!

girlstar7: yeah it is awesome - Melbourne may not have the magnificent river views of Sydney but it has a lot of little bars which has way more character. Of course, I’ve only ever seen this bars on TV.
