Sweet little lies are good for your relationship
Guys, you all should know this by now. The standard answer to “Do I look fat in this?” should either be a quick, almost reflexive and emphatic “No!”, or a reassuring “I think you look hot”, or a combo of both.
That, plus what you’ve just saw in this ad reinforces this fact: women do not want your truth when it comes to how they look. They want sugar-coated, sweet little white lies.
You know, like that Fleetwood Mac song:
Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies!
(tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
You think this sounds like too much work? You think having a girlfriend and free sex on tap comes easy?! You little ingrate! You gotta work for it man!

It’s so true. A little sweetness goes a long way.
If I were in that situation (in the YouTube video), I’d just say, “Honey, I absolutely have no idea what a muffin top is”. That way, I am not fully lying and that my gf will end up asking her friends. Hopefully they will tell her what it is.
However, she may come back to me with the F word, “Do I look fat?” *sigh* What to do?
alyndabear: hehe good innit?
10/3: true that - or you lie to her anyway, she find out the true meaning of the term and then she will love you even more for lying to her about it. Hahah!
This is something between me and Kian.
I asked Kian: Ney? Am I FAT? *wink wink wink*
*I expected sweet lies thou I know I am not thin lah*
Guess what he said? “Yehh …yehhh ..yeS, you are…a bit.”
TA MA DE!!!
Oh well. fine. I get that motivation. I work hard. I lost few kilos and still counting..
Oh, you know your stuff man! Your sweetie will be so pleased.
cynthia: I think you two have grown to a stage where you are totally comfortable and honest with each other, which can be a good thing too I guess. Good luck with that. Hahahah!
blur ting: thank ye thank ye.
It’s funny cos it’s true! My boy has this shit down. One of the many reasons i love him, cos he always knows the right things to say
steph: heheh every boy should have this shit down. It’s a mandatory life skill, like being able to read, write and count. Hahah!
but.. she’ll be walking around embarassing herself!! i think it’s the bf’s duty to tell her the truth leh!
but subtlely.
dreymer: that’s a fine line to walk on. It could all backfire - she gets upset and no one gets to go out.
Say the right lies @ the right times will indeed saves life.
“MUFFIN TOPS!!!!”
Lupin: ignorance is bliss. Heheh.
brrr. think i’ll rather find out from my bf than have people say it to me and me smiling to them thinking its a compliment.
nadnut: ah then you are most enlightened. Your boyfriend must feel so at ease about these questions. Hahah!
hurhur. i already know the answer to those questions mah. i ish fat no matter what i wear. no point asking.
nadnut: please! you are nowhere near fat! and I bet Mr. Tiger feels the same!
