What can I say, the heat is sapping every bit of original thought out of me. So I thought I’d seek out some memorable Australian ads that kinda convey my feelings right now – hot and thirsty. First up, the original and sexy Antz Pantz ad from 1990 – I remember having such a crush on Toneya Bird, the model in the ad. Sic ‘em Rex!
Next up, the Toohey’s Extra Dry tonguey “Satisfaction” ad from 2004. The tongue got so thirsty that it had to get a drink! Yeah you have to watch it.

I always get that song in my head after watching.
heheh I hope you like the song then. I absolutely loved it when I first heard it on Triple J, and then was blown away when I heard it on this ad.
UGH! That tongue ad FREAKS ME OUT. Seriously. How gross is it when it just plops out of his mouth? BLEH.

But I agree the song is awesome.
I LOVE that tongue ad. How it didn’t win more awards is beyond me.
Katie: yeah the grossest moment was when it plops out. But it’s also gross imagining it crawling around on the ground, and thinking what that might taste like! Haha! I still love it though.
steph: heh yeah, instead of awards it got people complaining but they weren’t the target audience anyway. I thought it was so bizarre that it was good! The song on it helped too.
Hey there, was just blog hopping and you’ve got interesting reads. The tongue ad was sick!! It’s interesting but really depends doesn’t want attention or sales.. after seeing that I would remember the brand.. but I’d also be to gross out to wanna drink it haha.
