Tomorrow ends my second week of my new job. Thus far, I’m really enjoying myself and I’m doing stuff that I dabble in frequently as a result of me running this little blog. I do have to adjust to not having full access to the servers, which is probably a good thing anyway. You know what they say – the more access you have, the more work you are expected to do.

That said, compared to my old job it feels restrictive sometimes to have to wait on someone else to do what I can normally do. On the other hand, it is very nice to have rules and procedures in place. Everything has a structure and is where you’d expect them to be. The in-house software that the customers and the internal staff use is great too.

The team that I work with is excellent, and in general the office has a very relaxed atmosphere. And the biggest perk has got to be the fully automatic espresso machine. Can’t go back to having instant coffee in an office anymore, I’m afraid.

Then there’s the commute. This may sound weird but I love taking the bus and train to work because I like people watching. And it goes without saying that there’s always a hot chick or two who takes the bus and train at the same time everyday as I do. Regular and punctual eye-candy is good for the soul I believe.

So yeah I’m loving it.
