On Friday night, whilst partying with my friends a male stranger came up to me, put his arm around my shoulders and said,
You are very handsome.
Erm, thanks? Now why can’t a girl come up to me and say that?! Heh.
He didn’t say it in a sexual way and he didn’t feel me up so it wasn’t creepy. But then he kept coming over to talk to me about some girl that he was frustrated with. Think the guy’s contemplating switching teams because of it???
Who knows. Just to avoid him, I went and stood amongst my female friends. “Ah, that’s much better,” I thought. “This is where I belong. And this is how I roll.” ![]()

Marcus be hot!! Woot Woot!
Guys always seemed to be freaked out/annoyed upset when another guy is attracted to them. You mentioned that you tried to avoid the guy and get away from him. One thing I always tell them: if another guy is interested in you or thinks you are attractive BE FLATTERED regarldess of whether you swing that way or not. At the end of the day, it’s still a compliment. Someone is still saying that they find you attractive. Who cares if you don’t go for men? Just enjoy the attention. If a girl thought I was hot, I’d think it was an awesome compliment. Sure, I prefer men but I’d still like the idea that there was something about me that she liked…
Haha that’s awesome! Most guys would have punched him, or not been able to see it in a non-sexual way.
I’ve had times when I’ve been out with friends and a girl comes up to me and says I’m hot (which is flattering!) and of course it has an instant “OMG!!” effect on any guys within ear shot. It’s funny how a man saying another man is hot generally doesn’t have the same effect lol.
I agree with girlstar - it’s a compliment at the end of the day, whether it comes from a female or male. Go you!
Think about this. You’ve had man crush before, now some man has a crush on you.
Kitty: I be smoking!
girlstar7: oh I was flattered in a way and I wasn’t rude to him at all. In fact I even gave him some ideas on his girl trouble. Heh.
Katie: hey girls are just more “bendy” that way so you can deal with the compliments better. Guys are just more erm, “stiff”? Haha, I made funny.
blur ting: not saying it’s a bad thing at all, but I still got the chills for a second there. Heheh.
I always tot when a guy says another one is handsome….the latter really must be!
woohoo!
i once had this woman (i say woman, because this happened when i was a fresh-faced un-jaded 18 year old) come up to me while i was dancing (to hard old-school drum and bass - not very conversation friendly music) and tell me “you look amazing when you dance”
to be completely honest, i didn’t know what to say.
it was a little strange, but only because i had come to expect people trying to grope me, but not speak to me, especially in clubs.
sad.
p.s
i did immediately after run away to the all male posse i had arrived with so as to not feel too … out there and alone.
The policeman reminds me of of “The Village people” Y.M.C.A
I think that guy is wasted bah.
and if that the case you know how people’s perspective of beauty are distorted under the influence of alchol. Hehehe. You know what I mean.
Kidding, Kidding….
i wish peeps come up to me and say i’m handsome. *sniffles*
mf: that’s an interesting theory - I’ll take it!
juji: haha, what you’d described is almost exactly like what I’d experienced. Although, she’s just saying that you dance well. Mine mentioned my looks specifically, which can be taken very differently.
Lupin: that’s a good theory too - he did look kinda wasted!
herman: be careful what you wish for!
i neglected to mention that before she spoke to me and after she stood in front of me staring/smiling, attempting eye contact.
i felt like little red riding hood staring into the face of her smiling “grandma’s” big teeth!
juji: ah that changes everything.
for what it’s worth, I think you’re cute =)
just don’t ask me what my definition of cute is. Hurhur
rn: thanks - that’s almost like a non-compliment, hahah!
2 reasons:
1. Your a famous blogger now. Get used to it.
2. Are you wearing Menage’aftershave?
Jeff: don’t think he knew me from the blog, and heheh…”Menage” eh? Where can I get some?
Yep, flattered is definitely how you should feel. Someone was attracted to you, clearly. That’ll always give a bit of a boost.
Lad Litter: oh always. Even though it’s different.
ok… *walks up beside Mooiness*
“You are handsome!”
=)))
bm - the next time he’s here we’ll arrange a random cute chic to squeeze his buns.
blinkymummy / rn: friends and pre-arranged encounters do not count!
