Men are looking for healthy mothers to produce children and women are looking for some one who can look after her and her children. Its not rocket science nor is it shallow, its basic human instinct. Of course I would prefer to date a rich guy to a poor guy but I would never date a guy ONLY for that reason...so yes, I think your statement is pretty spot on! I guess the male equivalent would be : some guys are shallow and would only date a beautiful woman but a lot would date a woman for other traits such as a good personality but of course they would prefer a beautiful woman with a great personality than a plain one!
