Can you tell I’m happy?!

Here’s the unboxing pics.

To gauge how big the turntable is …

Haven’t got a chance to play it yet – the parental units are hogging the big TV. But tomorrow night is a different story – w00t!

If you are in Australia and you are thinking of getting it, JB HiFi is selling it for the cheapest at $129. If they are stickered for more than that (I’ve seen a branch selling these for $159) – ask the store staff why because it says $129 on their site. :)

Megan Fox playing Guitar Hero

(via Kotaku)

My kind of hot girl would be the hot girl who doesn’t know how hot she is. She wouldn’t know the extent of her charm and beauty. She would be down to earth, and although she may be self-confident, she wouldn’t have an ego.

She doesn’t behave badly nor does she think she can get away with bad behaviour just because she’s beautiful. She’d apologise and mean it. She doesn’t expect favours or for you to bend over backwards for her. Put simply, she doesn’t trade on her good looks.

She wouldn’t belittle you or make sure that you know that you are privileged to be around her, even though you really are. No, it’s the other way around – she is the one who is grateful that you are in her life and she tells you so.

So I must have been having these thoughts subconsciously because last night I dreamt about Megan Fox, except she wasn’t a movie star. Although she was still smoking hot in my dream (natch), she was a normal person and she was my friend, and we did normal friend things together. And in my dream I relish being her friend because of that whole hotness by association thing we got going – being around a hot woman naturally lifts other people’s perception of your own attractiveness, PLUS the fact that she didn’t know she was the hot Megan Fox.

Perhaps Megan represented how I feel about all my female friends. Amiright?! Big brownie points? Come on! That deserved a bucketful.

Check out these clips of Megan on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien – Megan comes across as so normal and down to earth, that Conan says she’s the “perfect woman”. I have to agree. Woohoo!

I heard mom and dad arguing last night.

Mom said, “@#$%^&!”

Dad said, “”@#$%^& yourself!”

I laughed. I think that wasn’t the correct reaction.

So remember that time I told you I like Britney?

My friend Kayo managed to get us $50 tickets (normally $199) which makes it a complete no-brainer! So our happy bunch are going to her concert on the 7th of Nov! Squeee!

It should be awesome. Her live shows always look good!

jes-lights2

This post is more than a week late – life, friends and good times got in the way of blogging about it. So Godskitchen 2009 rolled into Perth on 9th October, and it was held at Metrocity as usual.

me-simon-2 lydia-me

In my group for the night were Simon, Lydia, and Scott.

jes

This year, for something different the tour included Jes, a vocalist who’s done a few tracks with different DJs. Her live performance was so-so but the choice of songs was good as a steady build up to the more frenetic stuff that was to come. And boy, did it come. Woohoo!

blank-and-jones

I’ve heard stuff from Blank & Jones before but their own tracks are usually quite mellow and chill. I was pleasantly surprised when the stuff that they spun on the night was decidedly harder stuff. They played an excellent set.

cosmic-gate

When it was time for Cosmic Gate at 2:30am, I was super hyped up. And they didn’t disappoint. Their set was made up of euphoric melodies and vocals mixed in with a relentless beat – loved it loved it loved it!

bar-lights

My batteries went dead just as John 00 Fleming came on around 4:30am. He took it to another level. My mind was officially blown by then. But I only lasted another 30 minutes before my legs couldn’t quite keep up with the pounding beats anymore.

lydia-me-pose

I left at 5:30am a totally exhausted but extremely satisfied and happy punter. :)

Here’s the obligatory highlight clip (9:59) – turn it up!

So Tham and I had our usual discussion about sexual politics the other night and he brought up some interesting observations. Some women like to be the mother figure in the relationship, they like nurturing and looking after the man and feeling needed, while others crave the intrigue and mystery that comes with dating an unpredictable, some say unreliable, man. In other words, they like bad and broken men whom they can nurture and fix. Or so they think.

I’ve talked about those things previously so I’m not gonna rehash them here. Tham adds something to the discussion though: stable, independent and reliable guys are boring to the women described above, and thus they are unattractive in their eyes. There’s no challenge, no excitement, and “what you see is what you get” is very dull to them.

Whether or not the theory holds is not important but it sure does make me feel better about myself. There’s nothing wrong with being a well-adjusted independent guy, right? Right? Damn it, where you going? Don’t leave! Hey come back! Please? Hello? :P

VIDEOGIOCO by Donato Sansone from Enrico Ascoli – Sound Design on Vimeo.

(via Gizmodo)

This animation is insane! It uses paper pop-ups, flip-book and sound effects. As entertaining as the clip is, I’m more impressed with the complexity and thought that went into making it. Speaking of pop-ups, I used to love those pop-up books – they’d entertain me for hours. :)
