So how was your NYE celebrations?
I had the house all to myself at the last minute due to a family emergency (more on that later), so Tham had the idea of coming over to make burgers. Along for dinner was Kayo, Khai, Lydia and Scott. After we had our fill and cleaned up the place, we danced and listened to music, watched Youtube clips on the big screen and drank ALOT. Oh and somewhere in between, we did the countdown.
I drank so much that I woke up not remembering much of how the night ended. And what’s more, I discovered mysterious cuts and bruises on my elbows and knees. How disturbing. Hur hur hur.
I paid for it though – I was dry-retching and couldn’t eat at all for the whole of new year’s day. But I dragged myself out of bed to Jen and Guan’s dinner because they had arranged it around my schedule. I briefly contemplated not going but I figured they would be more than miffed about it. Heh. Thanks for looking after a mighty hungover friend, Jen & Guan! I promise to be more fun next time.
All up, it was a blast. I needed to be around good friends at the moment and over the past day and a half, I was in a very happy place. Thanks peeps.

Sounds like you had a great New Year’s celebration – hopefully the family emergency is all okay now! I went to a party at a friend’s house and was all geared up for a big night but it turned out to be smaller than we’d all hoped. Oh well, I guess it’s for the best – I didn’t have to suffer too badly the next day.
That is true about the suffering the next day.
Sadly the family emergency may have taken a turn for the worse. I might have to fly away to attend a funeral soon.
You are welcome Marcus….hope you are feeling better now. Happy 2010.
Yeah much better – thanks!
Best of luck with the family emergency situation. Glad your NYE was good for you. My hangovers last two days so I have to be in aconsequences-what-consequences? mood to really let loose alcohol-wise. Now and then, I do!
Thanks man! Wow, two days?! That’s a mighty bender.
You are allowed to drink in Singapore, but you CANNOT DRINK THAT MUCH, ok!
Yes, I’ve scared myself even.
I spent New Years watching the fireworks in Kuala Lumpur…it was my first time there so I had a great time! I was a little hungover but not as bad as it sounds like you were!
However, I know exactly how you feel: about a month ago, here in China, I had a huge night where I mixed my drinks waay more than I should have. The next day I spent four hours running between my bedroom and the bathroom; in the end I had nothing to throw up so I was just dry retching….ewww, SO not a good feeling!! I can really sympathise, hope you are all recovered now.
Oh, and hope the family emergency is ok
Hahah yeah – alcohol overdose is not fun at all, but we keep going back to it because it’s the only legal alternative.
As for the family emergency, it has taken a turn for the worst and I’m flying back soon for most likely a funeral.
