China September 2010 – Lama Temple, Confucius Temple
After seeing the Temple of Heaven, we stopped for lunch. After which, we proceeded to the Lama Temple – a Tibetan Buddhism monastery.
Being a very spiritual place, there are plenty of areas for praying and offering incense.
It is also where you can see a 26m tall Buddha statue carved from a single piece of White Sandalwood. My camera couldn’t take it all in – you just have to imagine it. The height alone was impressive but to also know that it was carved from a single tree no less. Woo.
A short walk away was the Confucius Temple.
Are the photos of all these temples and palaces beginning to look a bit same-same to you now?
Yeah I felt the same way.
I will end this post with something different then. Here’s a baby destined to be someone great. Or so his grandpa likes to think.
And here are some sleeping tourists . I would see them everywhere in China.
