China September 2010 – Kashgar scenes
In my first post about Kashgar, I mentioned that a lot of the older Uighur neighbourhoods in Kashgar are being torn down in the name of modernising them. The photos above and below show you what the typical buildings look like in those neighbourhoods.
Here’s some bread being dried outside a home.

Scooters are plentiful because they are cheap and easy to learn. Helmets are optional and kids ride for free.

This ends my posts about Kashgar, which was to me one of the most interesting cities on this trip. We were only there for one day and would fly back to Urumqi one night after we’d arrived. Next up, Turpan.
