Kuala Lumpur Day 1 Pics

January 24, 2006 12:01 AM

These photos were taken on the day described in KL Update 1.

Arrived in KL around 2:30pm and took a short taxi ride to Sungei Wang. This is what it looks like in front of Sungei Wang most of the day, everyday.

Went up to the 6th floor where my Aunty Cass’ shop is. In her own words, she sells ah-lian clothes.

This is her with her youngest son, Reushen. She is the mom of Reucas.

This is her second youngest, Reuzhen. He won’t look into the camera. I tried my best to coax him into it but he just wouldn’t.

I sat there for a while getting some of my energy back from being cooped up in a bus for 4 hours. Just like in the office, sitting around doing nothing is tiring. The boys did some homework and played for a bit.

After that we decided to walk over to Lot 10 and people-watch. There was some sale going on the ground floor – it was all hand bags. Needless to say, there were a lot of women. Woohoo.

We meandered for a while before we headed to the first of many cyber-cafe sessions in Sungei Wang. They gamed, and I blogged. Typical.

Because it was so energy intensive, we then got hungry. Reuzhen took me to the mamak stalls that’s actually inside the complex. And it felt just like the outdoors – think it was part of their carpark which they had refurbished.

Hmm, decisions decisions. (for bigger image, click here)

We ordered roti-canai all around. Yum. Cheap too.

That was dinner and we went home after. So ends my first day in KL – back after 4 years being away.

I am looking at the pciture you took in the cybercafe. Are your cousins playing Gunbound by any chance?

BTW, if you have time and haven’t been there yet, i highly recomend you visit Luna Bar, on top the Pan Global building.

starry: and think of what cute babies you and Bruce would produce. C-U-T-E. 🙂

slinky: probably I wouldn’t know – it was cutesy platform game with guns. Sounds familiar? I had the chance to go to Luna but other commitments came up so didn’t.

bm: wah lau eh …. sibeh suaku loh! Hahahahaha. Eh, maybe can wangle some “fact-collecting” trip as part of your job? You can justify it by saying that KL is your nearest competitor. Heh.

lara: yeah yeah. Except *those* days. Most of the time, it just drives u nuts.

Shhhhhh or you’ll scare the potential father to be away!! lol.

Just looked at a close up of the Menu… I can’t help but wonder – I understand the High in Quality claim, but what do they mean by High in Concept???

    Damn the food is cheap!

“High in Concept” . Heh. No idea. I think it’s something that they’d added in without knowing the full meaning or how it applies to them.

Probably because it just sounded sooo cool. 🙂

In any case, the food was good.

If you read my previous updates (think it’s KL Update 2), I mentioned that we spent most of our time there in the arcades. 🙂
